Amsterdam tourist attraction # 1: Take a canal tour (Part 2)

Because I got a request to tell more about canal tours, here is part 2 of the Amsterdam tourist attraction #1 Take a canal tour. There are a lot of different types of Canal tours, here I try to describe the different types of canal tours in more detail.

Standard canal tour

When you take a standard canal tour it will take 1 to 1,5 hours. On most of the boats you get a headset with a electronic tourguide in the language of your choice. You can get a standard canal tour on different spots in Amsterdam. A lot of tour operators are located near Central station and near the Leidse plein.

Food canal tour

You can also combine a canal tour with breakfast, lunch or a dinner. You can take the For example you can take the Pancake cruise for breakfast and lunch. You can eat unlimited pancakes.

But you can also choose all kinds of dinner cruises. One of the nicest dinner cruises is the Sailing gourmet restaurant. Here you can have a romantic dinner on a classic saloon boat while having a a la cart dinner. If you want a little bit more occasional, you can join a BBQ or Cheese Fondue cruise canal tour.

Cocktail canal tour

You can also cruise the illuminated Amsterdam canals enjoying a nice cocktail.

Private canal tour

If you do not like to be packed with a bunch of unknown tourists, you can choose to have a private cruise. Private cruises can be arranged for 2 people on a small taxi boat or for bigger groups, where you book your personal canal boat for a private party.

Music canal tour

When you like music, the Music cruise is a nice tour. You can combine your canal tour with e.g. a workshop for drummers.

Comedy canal tour

If you want to have a laugh during your canal tour, you can take the comedy cruise. A stand-up comedian will guide you trough the canals of Amsterdam.
