On number 6 in our Top 10 Amsterdam tourist attractions, you find a visit to the red light district. Maybe it sounds strange that a visit to the red light district can be seen as a tourist attraction, but in Amsterdam it is.
Busloads of tourists, visit the red light district in Amsterdam every day and it is probably the biggest tourist attraction in Amsterdam. You can walk trough the red light district and admire the beauty of nature behind the publicly open windows. You can see this publicly, because prostitution is legal in The Netherlands. If you want you can even by a souvenir in one of the shops. A lot of bachelor parties visit the red light district too. You can have a lot of fun in one of the bars. A famous bar for bachelor parties is the banana bar. I will not give away what they do with the bananas. (Ha, ha)
Because a lot of tourists visit the red light district, you have to watch out for pick-pockets. Also show some respect to the ladies, because the people in the community are very close with each other. When you make fun of them, it is not always tolerated and trouble can arise for you. And I can assure you, you will not win this battle.
